Yesterday, I flew on a new Lufthansa A350-900 from MUC to IAD. This is a beautiful aircraft inside and out. The screens are all high resolution. I enjoyed watching a movie on the screen at my seat. Usually I much prefer my laptop or iPad. Even the illuminated fasten seat belt sign is high resolution.
The aircraft is quiet. The windows are big. The overhead bins and very tall. My carry-on fit with the short side on the bottom of the bin. This aircraft accommodates 325 passengers in a standard three-class configuration. The fuselage is built with carbon-fiber reinforced plastic (CFRP) — which burns less fuel, lowers maintenance costs and increases resistance to corrosion.
This is the next-generation of aircraft. Boeing faces some tough competition.
